IDEAL FOR PLANNING
Another winter freeze has arrived, prompting schools to close for two days thus far due to the icy conditions. Tomorrow will be the third day indoors. Warm and sheltered from the numbing cold.
The tree branches outside my window are a beautiful sight to behold. Enveloped in a thick layer of ice as if frozen in time. It is astonishing how something so heavy is suspended in air without being weighed down to the point of breakage.
In the meantime, hours and minutes crawl by. Consumed by work and thoughts of travel. To the time of summer when the days are longer and warmer. To the days when I spend time with my children wandering around the streets of Europe.
These cold days are ideal for planning. For researching travel itineraries. The endless possibilities of flights to take and places to explore.
Life is too short and precious to simply watch it pass us by. Waiting for the perfect time to take that trip we have been dreaming of. The time to act and live is now.
