EVERYTHING IN BETWEEN

There’s the beginning of your life when everything is new and exciting. New experiences. New opportunities. Exciting prospects for the future. Taking chances. Daring to try new things. At times, being reckless and fearless.

There’s the end of your life. The final years. When you ponder the days which have long gone. Wondering how you could have made changes. Taken the other path when a fork in the road presented itself. Done things differently in order to make the end more satisfying. Processing lingering regrets. Knowing that our days are numbered and trying to make up for times lost.

Then there is everything in between. The years of struggling to make sense of life. Of relationships which came and went. Of the endless thoughts that nothing will change. The nights of worrying that everything is hopeless. That all will remain the same the following morning.

But things do change. In the end, we come to realise that nothing is permanent. Circumstances change when we least expect them to change. The things that mattered, no longer hold importance in our lives. Material possessions being replaced with experiences that we desperately try holding onto before our memories fade.

Life is a process. Evolving into something which makes everything in between worth the struggles we experience. Every minute being another chance to make the decision to make a better future.
