FIRST DAY OF AUTUMN

The first day of Autumn got off to a great start with my daughters spending the long weekend and half of next week with me and their brother.

They arrived yesterday after school, at which point I made another batch of chocolate chip cookies for them. I always enjoy baking for them and they always enjoying eating what I bake.

After a simple meal of Naan bread with dolmas, hummus, avocado and Greek feta, the children went on to their room and watched something on the Apple TV. Later in the evening, I shared with them a few photos from my high school times and we talked about how different life is for them than it was for me.

This morning, after my run, we all sat down to a breakfast of hot, creamy wheat cereal with brown sugar and cinnamon. My son opted for Brioche bread with avocado. And of course, there was Croatian coffee.

Not too long after we ate breakfast, the girls and I went shopping at The Domain. The main place they were interested in was Brandy Melville. We had seen several of those stores on our travels throughout Europe this past summer, with one of the nicest ones having been in Rome. I bought the girls a few items and we continued on our way.

My son had gone on a bike ride and was on his way back home as we returned. I left the girls at home whilst I went to the nearby store for a few food items. I made steak and roasted potatoes for dinner and we enjoyed ice cream for dessert.

Not a bad start to the Autumn season.
