TO MOVE FORWARD
Staying in one place gets us nowhere. Whether that is in a job, a relationship, or the place we live.
The hesitation to move forward prevents us from the changes necessary to make our future better. Fear takes over and we start to overthink everything that comes our way. Should I take that opportunity? What will happen if I don’t? What if… and the questions we ask ourselves can go on into infinity to the point of paralysis. Where we simply decide to stay where we are because it is more comfortable.
Overthinking prevents us from making the decisions we need in order to get to a place in our lives where we can be satisfied with ourselves. A place of happiness. Of being content with the path we are taking. Though remaining in our current situation might feel comfortable, it most certainly will not bring about the change we need in order to move forward. For growth to happen, we need to move.
New ideas and thoughts bring about growth. They expand our minds and bring about a shift in our thought processes, which inspires us to change. Reading books and articles, talking with people, and visiting other countries are some of the ways we can gather new knowledge.
To move forward does not necessarily mean a permanent physical move. It might simply be a weekend trip to change our environment, of being willing to try new things, and being confident that if it does not work out that at least we tried something new which contributed to our knowledge and the betterment of our lives.
