THE RISKS WE TAKE
Life presents us with various risks and accompanying rewards or punishments along the way. Some risks we choose to take. Others we abandon as we overthink their outcomes. Relationship and career choices being the greatest decisions we will make. Even if it is the decision to not enter into a relationship for the foreseeable future or to stay at the same job because it is simply more comfortable than venturing out onto a new path.
At times, the paths we had initially planned and set out to take, make unexpected turns. When confronted with a decision at the fork in the road, we weigh the consequences of making a left turn as opposed to a right. We might even become so overwhelmed with the decision that we simply turn around to return to the path of most comfort.
But comfort gets us nowhere worthwhile. It hinders our growth and limits our experiences. It is only in the discomfort of change that we develop into the person we are meant to be. The one who will make memories worth remembering. Not the one who struggles to come up with images of a fulfilled life. Sometimes, the risks we take bring us the most satisfaction. The curiosity of finding out what we would have missed had we not chosen to walk another path.
