Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in my everyday life. Home, travel, food, lifestyle.

THAT SOMETHING

THAT SOMETHING

Most of us are well aware of that feeling. The feeling we have when we are waiting for something. A phone call. An appointment. Documents. Results. The status of an application for employment or housing. It is a feeling like no other. It puts us on edge as we can hardly focus on anything deemed normal.

Sleep is fleeting as we toss and turn throughout the night. Our stomachs are twisted into knots and we find it difficult to eat. Focus is on one thing and nothing else. That something.

This past week has been that something. With a mere ten days left before I have to turn in the keys to this place, my focus has been on getting another roof over our heads within that short period of frame.

To complicate matters further, the children have a week off school this week which means our time revolves around waiting to sign another lease instead of doing lots of fun things. Despite that, the children have been somewhat understanding. As much as children can be anyways.

After gym and breakfast, they retreated outside to play with their box of colourful chalk. At a high of 33C today, it was a good day to spend outdoors. Sage was proud of his rainbow fish and came inside to get me so he could show me the fish. He also asked if he could use his iPad to take photographs. They all spent time drawing and photographing their creations.

I spent time indoors waiting on that email or phone call or text message. Though I did receive a text after the gym that my lease agreement was approved for me to sign, I heard nothing back until late tonight after I tucked the children into bed and after I sent a message asking about the status. I did not wish to appear too impatient.

The other something that kept me on edge was hearing from him. With the upcoming move and the distance and our not having seen each other in close to four months, things have been more of a challenge than usual.

Our calls have been less frequent and no flights are scheduled for us to see each other anytime soon, though I do admit to doing a quick search for flights today whilst waiting on an answer about the lease.

In time things will work out. One step after another is all we are able to manage but those steps add up. After a while, when we look back, we will see just how far we have come.
