A MEANINGFUL EXCHANGE
Few things are more frustrating than not being heard or being misunderstood.
There are people we meet with whom we have a simple exchange of words. Perhaps asking for and getting directions to our destination or mere small talk at the grocery store as we wait in line at the checkout.
Then there are those people who are part of our lives on a daily basis. We see them and speak to them every day yet sometimes we feel as if what we say does not matter. We long for conversation. A connection. A meaningful exchange of thoughts and ideas. It is how we build lasting relationships.
Without that connection misunderstandings are imminent as is the distance we feel. We argue. We storm off. Sometimes we decide it is simply not working anymore.
If we make time for the things that matter, for the people who matter most in our lives, we can learn how to have more of those meaningful exchanges which lead to those lasting, loving, and meaningful relationships.
