Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in my everyday life. Home, travel, food, lifestyle.

WORK IN PROGRESS

WORK IN PROGRESS

Life and people are a work in progress’, came the message recently from an old friend. Someone I have not seen in several decades and whom I will most likely never get a chance to meet again. But such is the progression of life.

People come into our lives for many reasons. Some teach us lessons we have yet to learn or have forgotten along the way. Lessons that put us back on the path we need to take in order to reach our life’s potential. Other people cross paths with us briefly, such as when we are on a trip across the world and have interesting conversations with a stranger whilst driving in a car for three hours through the night to get from one country to another. Many of those strangers we will never see again, but the mere interaction with them has impacts on our lives that eventually manifest into the dreams we have for ourselves.

Sometimes we believe that these dreams will never come to life. That they will forever live in the ‘wishful thinking’ part of our brains instead of the part which prompts us to explore how to make it happen. Yet, we often tend to forget that life is a progression. That things happen for a reason at the time we need them to happen. When we are ready for them to happen. That eventually we will get to our destination as long as we put in the work and enjoy the successes along the way, no matter how insignificant they might seem to us.

Sometimes we believe that we are forever stuck in a certain situation. That things will never get better and that we will never be able to realise our dreams. Everything might seem impossible. And for a while, life will definitely seem as if it is not moving along at all. Other times, it might seem that we keep returning to the same place time and time again. At that moment, we need to sit in a quiet place and take time to reflect on what our next step will be. To shift our thoughts from the ‘impossible’ to the realisation that things can be better.

Life is an adventurous journey. A work in progress. Something that can be improved on every minute of every day. Every morning we get the opportunity to continue on our journey. To make progress. But consistency is the key to any success. Taking those small steps towards our goals and realising that mistakes we make along the way are merely redirections of the path on which we need to continue.
